Weekly Top Picks To Suit Your Style Personality - The Classic and The Dramatic
This month we will be exploring style personalities and how diving deeper into the details that we are drawn to and why can work wonders for your wardrobe.
Hi! I hope you have had a good start to the week! Spring style edits and personal shops are officially underway, the lighter mornings & evenings with warmer temperatures make me excited to lose a layer or two and get my big winter coat and knitwear stored away.
If you have worked with me before or followed me on instagram for some time you will know that I am an advocate for packing away seasonally and rotating your wardrobe so that you are only working with what is relevant to the time of year at one time. This helps to reduce the feeling of having ‘lots of clothes but nothing to wear’ situation so many people find themselves in, or being completely overwhelmed and uninspired by your clothing.
Rotating seasonally also ensures that you take a couple of hours at the very start of each season to reflect on what has been woking versus what hasn’t, have a good try on to see what still fits well and identify what is missing from your wardrobe.
This is where understanding your style personality can really come into effect and diving into which details you are drawn to, how suited your outfits are to your lifestyle and what the general feeling of your look is. All of this can work wonders for creating a more cohesive look that truly represents where you are in your life right now.
Hopefully you have been enjoying reading the last two posts featuring Relaxed, Romantic and Creative style personalities and maybe you have realised that you are drawn to one of those particular styles, or a combination of two or three. This week we are discussing two very contrasting styles, Classic and Dramatic and I hope you enjoy exploring them with me.
Which Style Personality Do You Resonate With?
The Classic
The Classic woman prides herself on looking smart and put together. They prefer a timeless look that doesn’t date easily, often leaning into tailoring with a neutral colour pallet and a minimal look, featuring stripes as their key print of choice. They are very unlikely to be influenced by trends and enjoy spending their money on great quality handbags and footwear.
They like a tailored and fitted silhouette and opt for simplicity over making a statement. Details that they are often drawn to are high quality cotton or silk shirts, cashmere knitwear, tailored blazers and love classic footwear shapes such as the ballet pump, loafer or brogue.
Your favourite go to high street brands may be Hobbs, LK Bennett, Hugo Boss, Zara & H&M (their basics) Autograph (M&S), Jigsaw and may be inspired by designers such as Chanel, Victoria Beckham, Dior and Calvin Klein. Celebrities who carry a classic style are Kate Middleton, Jennifer Anniston, Emma Watson & Natalie Portman.

The Dramatic
People with dramatic style often love to push the boundaries of fashion, thrive on experimentation and often appear powerful and extravagant with their image. They may enjoy trying out new trends and feel inspired by catwalk style, or in contrast avoid trends and create their own unique wild style.
Details that they may be drawn to are bold colour & patterns, leather and animal print. Shapes and styles with interesting and voluminous silhouettes such as oversized shoulders, statement sleeves, or figure hugging styles to show off their sexy side will play a key part in their overall look.
They may design or commission their own clothes or shop indie brands rather than shop in typical high street stores, or in contrast may be a total shopaholic and love spending their free time shopping to find one off pieces inspired by the catwalks that excite them.
Brands that Dramatic gals may love are Amy Lynn, Cras, Sister Jane, Warehouse, Jayley and designers that may inspire dramatic style are Stine Goya, Jakke, Balmain & Balenciaga. Celebrities with dramatic style include Roisin Murphy, Paloma Faith, Lady Gaga
